Kitchen Wrap Materials & Warranty

The most common question we hear: "Isn't cabinet wrap just fancy contact paper?" No. We use commercial architectural vinyl film: the durable, heat-sealed material used on storefronts and elevators: engineered to hold up in a hot, humid Houston kitchen for years.

What is architectural film?

Architectural film is a thick, self-adhesive commercial vinyl (brands include 3M DI-NOC, Cover Styl and Avery Dennison) originally made to refinish high-traffic surfaces like office fronts, elevator doors and hotel interiors. It comes in hundreds of realistic woodgrain, stone, matte and gloss finishes and is applied by hand with heat tools so it conforms tightly to doors, drawer fronts and panels for a seamless, factory-smooth look.

Is cabinet wrap the same as contact paper?

No, and it's the difference that matters. Bargain "contact paper" from a home store is thin, low-tack, and lifts within months in a kitchen. Commercial architectural vinyl is far thicker, has a stronger permanent adhesive, resists heat and moisture, and is trimmed and heat-sealed at the edges by a trained installer. That's why it lasts years instead of weeks.

Does wrap hold up in Houston's heat and humidity?

Yes. Houston kitchens deal with heat, steam and high humidity: exactly the conditions cheap films fail in. Architectural vinyl is heat- and moisture-resistant, and because we heat-seal the edges, water and steam can't get underneath to lift it. Wipe it down like any finished surface and it keeps its look for years.

Materials & durability FAQ

Is cabinet wrap the same as contact paper?

No. Cabinet wrapping uses commercial architectural vinyl film: the same category of material (like 3M DI-NOC) used on storefronts, elevators and office interiors. It's far thicker, more durable, and more heat- and moisture-resistant than the thin self-adhesive "contact paper" sold in home stores, and it's applied by hand with heat tools for a seamless, factory-smooth finish.

Will vinyl wrap peel in Houston's heat and humidity?

Properly installed architectural vinyl is engineered to resist heat, steam and moisture, and its edges are heat-sealed to lock out water: which is exactly what a humid Houston kitchen needs. Cheap contact paper lifts and curls; commercial cabinet vinyl is built to stay put for years.

What warranty do you offer on kitchen wraps?

We stand behind our workmanship against peeling and bubbling. Ask for the current written warranty terms when you request your quote.
